ApiMiodek Apiary at the County Harvest Festival in Babice – tradition, community and our home region
The County Harvest Festival in Babice was one of those events that will remain in our memory for a long time. Dorota and Piotr Gierula, representing ApiMiodek Apiary, had the honour of serving as the ceremonial harvest festival hosts.
Babice is located in the Krzywcza Municipality in Przemyśl County. This is where we live, work and have been developing ApiMiodek Apiary for many years. For that reason, representing our local community during the County Harvest Festival was both an honour and a very personal experience for us.
The traditional presentation of the harvest bread
One of the most important moments of the ceremony was the traditional presentation of loaves of bread made from this year's harvest. As the ceremonial hosts, we presented the bread to Bożena Ryczan, Head of Przemyśl County, and Wacław Pawłowski, Head of the Krzywcza Municipality.
The bread was later divided and shared among the participants. This is one of the most meaningful symbols of the Polish harvest festival tradition – gratitude for the crops, respect for the work of farmers and the idea of sharing the fruits of that work with the community.
As beekeepers, we understand particularly well how closely human work is connected with nature. Agriculture and beekeeping both depend on the weather, flowering plants, the seasons and care for the environment.
St Isidore the Farmer distinction for Piotr Gierula
Another important moment for us was when Piotr Gierula received the St Isidore the Farmer distinction. This honour is associated with the agricultural chamber community and recognises people who are particularly involved in activities supporting agriculture and rural communities.
We regard this distinction above all as recognition of many years of work and involvement in agricultural and local community matters.
ApiMiodek Apiary and our home region
For us, ApiMiodek Apiary is much more than bees and honey. It is also the place where we live, our neighbours, farmers, local organisations and traditions passed from one generation to another.
We were therefore very pleased to see the event also covered by “Życie Podkarpackie”. The newspaper report included a photograph showing the moment when we presented the ceremonial harvest bread to the hosts of the celebration.
Visit the Krzywcza Municipality
We would also like to invite you to discover the Krzywcza Municipality. It is a scenic area on the San River, rich in greenery, history and peaceful places worth exploring.
In Babice, visitors can see the historic Holy Trinity parish church complex, the former wooden Greek Catholic Church of the Dormition of the Mother of God, as well as the historic manor complex and park.
The surrounding area is suitable for walking, cycling, kayaking and relaxing by the San River. Nearby Reczpol is home to the “Brzoza Czarna” nature reserve, while the historic Rosary Route also leads through the Babice area.
We invite you not only to discover our honey, but also the place where we live and work – the Krzywcza Municipality. This is where our bees work and where ApiMiodek Apiary grows every day.
